An electronic phase-sensitive receiver EFCP 1 (hereafter EFCP only), production number 75069, is defined as a high reliable replacement of electromechanical relays of DSS12 (DSR12) type, which are used as phase-sensitive receivers at the most of the track circuits of Czech Railways.

A higher immunity of track circuit against regressive traction current interference is a main advantage of EFCP application in track circuit. An adaptation of current track-circuits with DSS12 relay implies, in principle, a relay and power supply unit adjustment (i.e. an adjustment of indoor track-circuit equipment, an outdoor equipment remains unchanged).

An EFCP function ensures a fail-safe checking of rail and cable interconnections at track-circuit application even though regressive traction current limit was increased up to a value of c. 0,3 A at 275 Hz signal frequency and c. 0,5 A at 75 Hz signal frequency.

With EFCP usage there is no need to use relay repeaters, which are necessary in the current circuits using DSŠ12 relay, and there is also an essential electricity saving due to its application in 275 Hz track-circuits (c. 2/3 reduction of power consumption).

An assumed service life of EFCP is expected to be the same as a service life of other solid state elements of interlocking systems. A service life of NMS1–2000 (NM1–2000) relay (a variant with relay output of EFCP) is set by CD (Czech Railways) rules.

There are 3 variants of EFCP implementation:
  • (1) a direct replacement of DSS relay
  • (2) a provisional replacement of 50 Hz track circuits (a housing situated on a rack with electronic circuitry and a NMS1-2000 relay being self-contained)
  • (3) for new installations (a box of electronic for an assembly into 19" tubs and a NMS1-2000 relay being self-contained)

An electronic phase-sensitive receiver EFCP 1 fulfils EMC requirements according to CSN EN 50121-4. EFCP complies valid legal and technical rules, European standards, CSN and TNZ standards.

Notes:
